Addition of VTS meteo for road weather stations in the Zlín Region
Variable traffic signs, or VTS are modern devices for directing and controlling traffic on roads and in tunnels and informing drivers in real time. They may be with one or more symbols formed by LED light points placed on a contrasting background.
Another use of this technology is for "ZPI Traffic Information Devices" displaying messages to traffic participants. The main advantages are simple and fast change of symbols, significant highlighting of the traffic sign and low consumption.
In the Zlín Region, two variable signs were added to the four existing road weather stations. These are the localities Pozděchov and Prlov on I / 49, Komňa and Starý Hrozenkov on I / 50, Jasenná and Liptál on I / 69 and two localities near the village of Horní Bečva on I / 35. All meteo VTS are connected to superior systems using 4G modems. The installation of variable signs has contributed to raising drivers' awareness and increasing road safety.
